The European Digital Payments Industry Alliance (EDPIA), the voice of the European headquartered independent payments service providers, is pleased to share its Strategic Policy Agenda which showcases the Alliance’s key guiding priorities for 2023.
EDPIA membership believes it is important to build bridges between policy-makers and industry as a constructive dialogue is paramount for fostering a policy environment which actively promotes digital payments to the benefit of the whole EU society.
This year will be decisive for EU policy of the payment sector, with the ongoing negotiations of the Instant Payments proposal, combined the upcoming review of the Second Payments Services Directive (PSD2) and new proposals on the Digital Euro and Open Finance.
In this context, EDPIA has identified the following matters to guide our work:
- Ensure a regulatory playing field that encompasses the payments sector’s diversity
- Take the appropriate measures to address market failures
- Harmonise EU payments legislation
