Brussels, 7 November 2023 – Today, Piero Crivellaro, on behalf of the European Digital Payments Industry Alliance (EDPIA), has conveyed a congratulatory letter to the newly appointed member of the European Central Banks’s Executive Board, Mr. Piero Cipollone.
In his letter, the EDPIA Chair has extended his best wishes to Mr. Cipollone for continuing the open and constructive exploration of the ECB towards the possible future issuance and roll-out of a digital euro which can benefit consumers, merchants, and society at large.
The EDPIA Chair has also welcomed the active dialogue with the ECB regarding this project, as seen through EDPIA’s active participation in the Rulebook Development Group (RDG), and in the European Retail Payments Board (ERPB) and stated the EDPIA’s commitment to continuing the work with the ECB and cooperating closely with EU legislators.
